This new build was a difficult site for the homeowner to create usable spaces for their young family. The site was of an awkward shape and the land sloped significantly in the rear yard. Extensive retaining was required around the boundary of the property as the site was cut for the build.

The solution for this property was to create several terraces of stone paving, timber decking and natural turf.

The land was contoured to reduce the need for more retaining walls and the areas mass planted with species tolerant of Bendigo’s harsh climate. The planting palette for the front garden consisted of native species that blend into the natural bushland behind the property.

The landscape is currently under construction with the landscape to be built in stages. Having a master plan gives the owners complete confidence that each build stage will fit into the overall design.
